CASE STUDIES

State Route 99 Tunnel

SEATTLE, WA

Both Hill and Hatch helped the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) deliver this high-profile, complex project. Work entailed construction of a two-mile tunnel through downtown Seattle with supporting above-ground projects. The team’s efforts helped keep the public informed and provided WSDOT with the information needed to make smart decisions quickly.

No. 7 Line Subway Line Extension

NEW YORK, NY

Hill, as part of a tri-venture, managed the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA)No. 7 Subway Expansion project. The project extended the 7 Line by 12,400 linear feet under the West Side of Manhattan. The extension is transforming the Hudson Yards into a vibrant 24-hour neighborhood containing a mix of commercial, residential, retail, and recreational uses while enhancing the vitality of New York City as a whole.

In the 50-year history of billion-dollar projects for the MTA, the tunnels phase of the extension was first to be both under budget and ahead of schedule.

FasTrack

DENVER, CO

Hill, in a joint venture with our DBE partner, provided construction management support for Denver’s FasTrack Program, a multi-billion transit expansion plan that includes 122 miles of commuter rail lines. Through the team’s efforts, the project was able to achieve over $1 billion in DBE/SBE participation.
